Interior Finish/Painting Project - Gold
Fairfield and Woods Law Offices
Submitted by RNL Design
RNL Design was selected by Fairfield and Woods to prepare
a program document detailing its staff and space requirements
as well as operational deficiencies in order to best determine
the ideal size and configuration of its office space.
This plan was then used to test selected building floor plates
within the downtown Denver area and evaluate the efficiency
and effectiveness of those space plans. In addition, RNL evaluated
the firm's existing space compared to the ideal program to
determine what changes might need to be made, where the plan
was compromised and what costs would be associated with keeping
its existing space and remodeling in place.
In the end, Fairfield and Woods elected to remain in their
existing space and remodel and upgrade to meet current and
anticipated future needs. Encompassing 23,700 sq ft, the design
for this project included a remodeled ceiling system that
required the reuse and relocation of existing light fixtures
throughout the majority of the corridors, perimeter and exterior
offices and ancillary support rooms.
Lighting upgrades were provided in large conference rooms,
elevator and reception lobbies as well as all secretary stations.
Using both existing and new lighting challenged the design
team to carefully select finish colors and materials that
would work well in all lighting conditions, giving the final
appearance a fresh, classy flavor.
Finish materials such as art glass, quartzite slate and cherry
wood tones welcome clients into a clean, yet warm and receptive
experience. Increased lighting levels and energetic color
combinations add a sense of life to the long, narrow circulation
paths while soothing earth tones of green and taupe were used
in private office and conference rooms.
Ergonomic furniture system upgrades were provided to all
secretary and paralegal staff, making Fairfield and Woods
an aesthetically pleasing and functionally proficient corporate
working environment.
