Coventry Breaks Ground on RidgeGate in Lone Tree

The Coventry Development Corp. broke ground in late October on RidgeGate, a 3,500-acre, mixed-use, master-planned community nestled in the rolling bluffs along Lincoln Avenue and I-25 in Lone Tree.

The pedestrian-friendly development is designed to offer the culture and connectivity of a hip city balanced with ample open space and sweeping views of a natural Colorado setting. When complete, RidgeGate will encompass 12,000 homes, 23 million sq ft of office and retail space and all the amenities of a city, including:

  • A walkable downtown area with a variety of eclectic shops, eateries and entertainment facilities as well as office, civic, cultural and urban residential choices;
  • A diverse mixture of housing types;
  • Quality schools and top-notch recreational and health care facilities;
  • Dozens of parks and a sweeping open space system.

RidgeGate's planners drew inspiration from studying some of Colorado's most successful communities, including Boulder, Cherry Creek North and central Denver's historic neighborhoods.

Glenwood Meadows ShoppingCenter Gets Under Way

Ground was broken this fall on the new Glenwood Meadows Shopping Center, the biggest development in the recent history of Glenwood Springs.

W.E. O'Neil Construction Co. of Colorado will build the $15 million Phase 1, designed by Colorado Springs architect RTA Associates. At build-out, the center will measure 490,000 sq ft of retail and office space, as well as sites for 475 future apartments, townhouses and a hotel.

Holly Creek Taking Shape in Centennial

Denver's Pinkard Construction Co. is the general contractor for Holly Creek Apartment Homes, a Christian Campus Living project set to open in 2005. RNL Design of Denver is the architect.

Construction is under way on Phase I, which includes one three-story building with 114 apartments, arranged in neighborhoods within the community and connected to the town center. The common area will include a fitness center, spa and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool.

Plans also call for the development of 54 assisted-living suites where residents will have access to higher levels of care.

Ground Broken, More Tenants Announced for Larkridge

Ground was broken this fall for the 240-acre Larkridge development, one of Colorado's largest single retail projects.

Slated to open in October 2005, Larkridge will encompass more than two million sq ft of retail space and combine shopping and dining with an open-air pedestrian village.

Premier tenants will include Office Max, Good Times, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods, Home Depot, Circuit City, PetsMart, Gunther Toody's and one of the six currently planned Sears Grand stores in the nation.

Jordon Perlmutter & Co. is working with Matrix Design Group and MCG Architecture as the engineers and architects on Larkridge.

Pinkard Breaks Ground on CeDAR at Fitzsimons

Pinkard Construction has broken ground on the Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation, a new 50-bed residential evaluation and treatment facility for patients afflicted with chronic substance dependency and addiction.

The Lakewood-based firm is the construction manager/general contractor for the project, designed by Anderson Mason Dale Architects of Denver.

The conceptual design calls for six single-story structures scattered among a picturesque old orchard on the west side of the Fitzsimons campus. The wooded setting - with its courtyards, ponds, paths and trails - will provide privacy and seclusion while still allowing patients access to other services at the Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine.

OZ Designing Central Platte Valley Project

East West Partners-Denver has begun sales of The Townhomes at Riverfront Park, the newest residences in the fast-growing Central Platte Valley.

The townhomes are priced from $615,000 to $1.1 million and range in size from 1,800 to 2,400 sq ft. The development will feature 23 residences - all with at least three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a two-car garage, study, private stoop and entrance and an option for a rooftop deck. The three-story townhomes will also feature wood and brick siding.

OZ Architecture is the project designer. Pinkard Construction is the general contractor.
